Xbox 360 and Red Ring of Death

The Xbox 360 is a great, xbox, video game console. It has a great library of games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Bioshock 2, Fallout 3, and so many, xbox, other great titles. So when you go out and purchase an Xbox 360 you expect to be able to sit down and play your favorite games for a good period of time. When you spend that much money on anything you expect it to remain in good working order for a while right? Unfortunately the Xbox 360 does have a major problem and it is most commonly known as the Red Ring of Death.

The Red Ring of Death is when you see 3 lights on your Xbox 360 that will not go away. As you may already know when these lights appear it means that your system is no longer working. Now if your system is still under warranty you can send it back to Microsoft and they can fix it for you at no charge. However if your has run out Microsoft will charge you around $140 to fix your game. That hardly seems fair especially since that it, xbox, is their fault, xbox, for the way they designed the system.

The main cause for the Red Ring of Death is, xbox, the heat sinks. They protect the motherboard and the 2 main chips inside from overheating. The design flaw is that Microsoft made the heat sinks too small. This makes the motherboard heat up and the glue that holds the chips in place get weak. Also the board itself can even start to flex up or down which freezes the system and causes the 3 red lights to appear.
